Finished the first day and a half of bargaining

All

Your bargaining team met with the Employer on Wed 7/7 from 10 AM to 4:30 and Thu 7/8 from 9 to 12:30.

WWU, represented by the chief spokesperson, Ron Marshall of the State Labor Relations Office declined to accept our offer to roll our current contract and made a strong point that the Employer was going to be asking for concessions.
*Hint, take-aways.*

We received the Employer's initial proposal minus articles covering Compensation and Health Care. Health Care is negotiated state-wide with all the other unions and that bargaining has not started. It took us about an hour and a half to finalize the ground rules that cover the proceedings, but we go through that initial hurdle fine.

At present there are several articles that are being proposed for no changes, but until we are done or need member input as to which "stand" we should take, details will be sparse.

Our next date to meet is Tuesday, July 27. If you feel strongly about a specific contract article --- and by strongly I mean would you walk off your job for an afternoon and carry a picket sign --- start a conversation here.

What article do you want to make sure is not changed?
